Comments: Friends of the Koala (FOK) was established in 1986 following a meeting organised by NPWS of Lismore residents concerned at the loss of mature koala habitat. Its area of activity extends from Brunswick Heads in the north, out to Benalbo in the west, and to Evans Head in the south. FOK operates a Koala Care and Research Centre, located on the Lismore Campus of Southern Cross University.
